THIS WEEKEND!

Reviewers love INHALE HARMONICA!

SKYPILOT THEATRE COMPANY presents the

World Premier of

By NATHAN WELLMAN

Directed by PAT TOWNE

“The play is a paean to the lives inhabited by many a southern poet and playwright, the likes of Thomas Wolfe, Carson McCollough, and Tennessee Williams. It’s the tale of a fractured, frenetic family, forever searching for the freedom we all so crave.” — Tolucan Times

“The moments of humor were brilliantly written, and most welcome.” … “The ending has a powerful punch. So much so, it left me contemplating life. To me, that is great storytelling.” — EvocativeMatters.com

“Making its ‘World Premier’ on stage at the Studio/Stage in Los Angeles is an original dramatic production … a play about a family that is dealing with everything from dark secrets, racial overtones, and the soul of a family that is very gritty, bitter and completely raw in expressing their prejudices — it’s called INHALE HARMONICA. I particularly loved the chemistry and realism of the performances, and that mixed with a darker subject matter made for an edge-of-your-seat experience…”

“SkyPilot Theatre’s production of “Inhale Harmonica” is a dramatic, adult drama about the misgivings in a family that really knows that secrets need to remain secrets as long as they can. Even if the most serious of prices need to be paid at whatever the cost. Yes, there is a harmonica and it actually plays an interesting ‘character’ too in this production. (No spoilers here.) You’ll have to bring your family and friends for this Kentucky-sized slice of grit, passion and a family gone-wrong. There is adult language and a few bursting gunshot sound effects. Check them out at www.SkyPilotTheatre.org and tell them Lorenzo sent you from www.FaceBook.com/TheGeekAuthority!”

Coming In July/August 2014: Keith Haring – Pieces Of A Life

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SkyPilot Theatre Company
Present a workshop production of
KEITH HARING: PIECES OF A LIFE
By Greg Machlin
Directed by Doug Oliphant

1980s phenomenon pop artist Keith Haring has a problem. Make that two problems. 1) He’s in a coma in February 1990, about to die. 2) The Man Who Knows Things and The Woman Who Knows (two beings that may or may not be gods) say his art’s going to kill lots of people—unless he travels back to key points in his own life and agrees to destroy it. The horrible thing is, they might be right…

As Keith races through a whirlwind of own life (constantly pursued by the mysterious Man and Woman), he and his friends—mercurial Basquiat, loyal Kenny Scharf, savvy Madonna, and enigmatic Andy Warhol— wrestle with the big questions: What does it mean to pursue a life in art? Can you ever find a balance between making your art and being happy? What do the Man and Woman really want? And how do you stop them?

Greg Machlin, the award-winning writer of Seven Days: A Fantasia on the Life of Miles Davis, Doug Oliphant, director behind the critically acclaimed RITE OF SEYMOUR by Allison Volk and SkyPilot Theatre, the company that brought you KONG: A GODDAMN 30-FOOT GORILLA by Adam Hahn, WARBRIDE by Samantha Macher and 4 MURDERS by Brett Neveu, bring you KEITH HARING: PIECES OF A LIFE.
