MARY BURKIN (Talent)

Mary has been writing and performing her own one and two-person shows nationwide, since she first developed a show about JANE AUSTEN AT TEA for her Master’s Thesis Project. Since then she has performed under union contract with professional theatre companies such as the American Living History Theatre and Nevada Shakespeare, television and movies such as THE TAKE with John Leguizamo. As a member of the SkyPilot Theatre Company, Mary starred in their original romantic comedy, LIGHTS OUT, EYES CLOSED and their productions of AIRPORT and REWIND, as well as directed the one-act plays ICEBERG TO NOWHERE and COMINGS AND GOINGS. She has written, produced and directed 5 short videos for the 168 Hour Film Project, and her latest 2010 video, THE DEATH OF TAKMOS, earned a place on the 168 “Best Of” DVD. She is the winner of a Drama-Logue Award for Playwriting. Her original romantic comedy, FINDERS KEEPERS, will be published by JAC Publications this fall. She holds a B.A. in Drama from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Theatre from Cal-State Long Beach, and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School.
